Our Organic Farm in Saalfelden
Oberhasling farm is near to Breitenbergham and is situated at approximately 790m above sea level. Most of the meadows are flat and can thus be worked on using agricultural machinery.
The farmers, Maria and Johann Stöckl, took over the farm in 1966 from childless relatives and managed it until 2005. Over the years, the old buildings were renovated or rebuilt. The original house was completely torn down in 1981 and rebuilt. The barn has been repeatedly rebuilt and expanded.
Our organic farm consists of approximately 14 hectares of grassland, about 3.5 ha of forest and 2 ha of leased land. The grasslands are cut 2-3 times each summer to produce grass silage and hay.
Our farm has been organic since the 80s and is tested regularly. We have around 35 cattle in total, 10-12 are dairy cows and 8-10 are calves and these stay on the farm all year round. The 10 juveniles and 2 Noriker horses spend the summer on the mountain pastures. Of course, our miniature ponys Max and Stella, rabbits, guinea pigs, cats and our dog Kira stay on the farm.
